Davy Jones Locker

I'd really like to play your Davy Jones Locker murder mystery game on our houseboating weekend. We have a total of 8 people and I don't know if it will be possible to play it. Are there characters that can be eliminated?

My response:

It's certainly possible to run Davy Jones' Locker, but it will take a bit of work.

Davy Jones' Locker has been written for a minimum of 10 characters (excluding the host), so that means removing two characters. To do that you have a couple of options.

First, you can try just dropping two characters and fitting any spare plots back into other characters. However, this may not be easy. (After you've bought the game you can ask for the MS Word files from Freeform Games to make that easier.)

If any of your guests are up for it, you could try giving them two characters to play.

I've written more on this topic here.

If you do decide to try this, let me know how it goes!

(Or if you fancy a houseboat-y game that doesn't require modifying, I suggest Death on the Gambia.
