I am interested in The Dead Mans Chest murder mystery party for approximately 16 girls who are 16-year-old. I want to make sure that it is suitable for them. We are big Pirates of the Caribbean fans and I wanted my daughter to have a memorable sweet 16 birthday.
So, please tell me if this is a suitable murder mystery party?
Also is this game solely downloadable, in other words will there be anything delivered by mail or will I have it instantly on the internet?
My response:
Yes - A Dead Man's Chest has been written so that it is kid friendly and would make an ideal 16th birthday party.
The only thing you may have to watch is that you will have to invite some boys - there are a few male characters in the game! (I suggest you download the intro file as it has the full cast list in it.)
And yes, the game is fully downloadable. There is nothing to receive by post.

Does A Dead Man's Chest include some kind of script. I have purchased the game and I am confused as I thought it would come with some type of script. Could you please let me know asap, Thank you, Tracy
My response:
No, A Dead Man's Chest doesn't come with a script - your guests will improvise during the party as they pretend to be their character and try to achieve their goals.
Is there anything that's not very clear - if so I'm happy to help (or you could enquire at the Freeform Games discussion forums).

My kids are aged between 9 and 12. They are desperate for a change of Halloween party and we came across your site.
They have read the information on A Dead Man's Chest and are keen to have a go at this one. Do you think we can pull it off with kids of that age?
Or what would be your best suggestion for a themed party?
My response:
A Dead Man's Chest is by Freeform Games and they suggest that the minimum age for their games is 12.
I can't honestly say whether they will be okay with the game - my daughter is just turning 5 so I've a few years before I can judge if she and her peers would be able to manage the game when they're 9.
However, you know your kids better than they do. If they've looked through the intro file and are happy with it, then it sounds like they are probably ready for A Dead Man's Chest.
What I would say is that if most kids are in the 11-12 age range then I imagine you'd be okay. If most of them are 9-10 then you might want to think about a different party.
Sorry I can't be completely clear - kids can be so different I don't think there's a one-size-fits-all approach.
If you do decide to try A Dead Man's Chest, please let me know how you get on with it!
