I agree very much that the most fun mystery games are interactive and non-scripted.
We're getting ready to host a fairly large party, and we're looking for an appropriate mystery.
Murder At Sea looks idea, but we're interested in finding out about the level of sex and innuendo of the characters.
We're expecting to invite some children as young as 13. I'm less concerned about violence and liquor and drug references as I am about promiscuity and adultery.
Thank you for your guidance.
My response:
In Murder at Sea there are a few references to promiscuity and adultery - but I estimate that no more than about 6 characters are affected.
It should be fairly easy to cast the younger guests in roles that don't touch on such themes.

Thanks for your great website! We're thinking or renting a boat and doing the murder mystery on the boat, but we will only have 2 hours.
Do you think we'll be able to finish? I hope so!!!
Thanks again for your great website!
My response:
Renting a boat sounds like a great idea for Murder at Sea!
Normally Murder at Sea takes about 3 hours of playing time, but with the introduction, meeting and greeting the whole thing can take about 4 hours.
You can cut that down by making sure that everyone has their character in advance. I would also tend to start the game slightly before you board, so that everyone can get straight into the game.
And as for the final wrap up, that may have to wait until you've finished.
