I am having a 30th birthday party in June and want to have a murder mystery evening but would love to have a 20's theme to the evening. All of the games I have seen are not for this amount of people would you be able to help? I currently have 27 definites and would like a character for all of them.
Would like to get the invites out as soon as possible so I don't have to keep it a surprise for much longer (not very good at keeping things secret).
My response:
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by a 20s setting as it could mean American gangsters, PG Wodehouse-esque or something else.
My most important constraint when choosing a game is the number of guests, and if I know that then I choose the theme afterwards. I do that because it's more important to me to make sure that everyone has a good time than picking on a setting.
I say that because, like you, I am not aware of a game for 27+ characters set in the 1920s. There are a few (such as Murder at Sea which are sort-of nearly 1920s, but that does depend on what thing you are looking for in a 1920s game.
So I suggest you check out the list of games for 27+ guests (see link below), and pick the one that's closest to the kind of thing that you're looking for.

Backstage Business - a 1980s rock music themed murder mystery for 18-22 guests.
Here's my suggested quick route through the site:
Step 1 - Go to Choosing a Game to choose the game that suits your party best.
Step 2 - Review the Tips for Hosts for helpful advice.
