Are your murder mysteries scripted?

I am looking for a neat murder mystery party that will have 10 or more players but I also want it to be scripted, even though I know that my friends will ad-lib which I want as well.

Also will the set include suggestions for attire and food? I love making hearty appetizers and I have held several of these parties but it came with an audio cassette tape.

Since normally the murder mysteries only have 6 people, I have had to add additional characters and I just make up a script to be inserted at certain points in the script.

We have done western, hawaiian, disco and mexican. Our ages are in the 40's and 50's so it doesn't have to be conservative. What would you recommend?

My Response:

The one advantage of the games on this site is that there's a wide variety - so you're bound to find one that fits the number of players that are coming.

Unfortunately, none of the games on my site are scripted. All of them give you your character background, and some direction - and then it's up to the players. (I guess one way to think of it is that it's all ad-libbed!)

They also don't always include much in the way of suggestions for food - but I don't see that as a big problem as it would be easy to find some suitable recipes on the Internet.

All of the games provide costume hints.

As for which game to choose, if you still want to dip your toe in the world of interactive/freeform murder mystery parties, then I suggest starting with something like Death on the Gambia or A Dead Man's Chest.

Don't know where to start?

Here's my suggested quick route through the site:

Step 1 - Go to Choosing a Game to choose the game that suits your party best.

Step 2 - Review the Tips for Hosts for helpful advice.
