My daughter would like to have a murder mystery dinner party for her Birthday Party on Sep 15th. I need to start planning!
I was looking at ideas on your website that I can download. I am hoping that you can recommend the best murder mystery option.
There will be 12 people plus me. I will be the host (i.e. the 13th person).
Included in the 12 people there are:
5 - adults
1 - 16year old
3 - 15year olds
2 - 13year olds
1 - 11year old
I liked the theme Lei'd to Rest because a Hawaiian theme would be fun - but is it too adult for my guests?
Would Hollywood Lies be better? If so which one would you recommend?
Is there another game that you would recommend instead?
I want to make sure that I am selecting something that will be fun for the adults and the kids.
Is it easy for me to download the game and get started asap with my planning?
My response:
Lei'd to Rest is probably a good idea as you're already interested in its theme. I don't recommend it as a very kid-friendly party as one character is the mistress of another - but providing you have adults playing those roles then it shouldn't matter.
I think you'll need to carefully cast the 11 year old and the 13 year old, but the others will be fine with any of the roles.

And while I think you could have a lot of fun with Hollywood Lies, it really does need a minimum of 16 guests to work.
Backstage Business - a 1980s rock music themed murder mystery for 18-22 guests.
Here's my suggested quick route through the site:
Step 1 - Go to Choosing a Game to choose the game that suits your party best.
Step 2 - Review the Tips for Hosts for helpful advice.
