I have recently become interested in writing murder mystery games and so far have 3 completed games and a 4th that I am working on at the moment. I was wondering how I would go about trying to get these games published or up for sale? Would you be interested in any for your web site?
I have tried to make the games as interactive as possible and the only script in the game is when the characters introduce themselves to each other and their confessions. They have several suggested conversation starters as well but the games are centered around the guests own interpretation of the characters they are playing.
The main thing that differs in my games is that a different character can be chosen to be the murderer every time the game is played. The victim always stays the same but the circumstances of the murder differ depending on who the murderer is. The host chooses the murderer before the night begins. This allows guests to play the game several times if they wish without the risk of remembering who the murderer was. There are also other secret tasks for each character to complete throughout the course of the night to add a bit more excitement.
Could you let me know if you are interested in looking at any of my games or if you can put me in touch with anyone who may be?
My response:
I've written about selling your own murder mystery games before on my site - click here to read the article.
From what I can tell from your description, what you've come up with is different from any of the other murder mystery games that are published by other people.
I don't know if you've checked any of them out, but if you haven't then I'd be amazed if they exactly suit their format. If they don't fit the house style, then I don't blame you if you don't want to rewrite your games to suit.
In which case, your best bet is to publish the games yourself.
That's less scary (and less expensive) than it sounds - it's easy to make a presentable pdf e-book these days, and you can sell it via Clickbank or on your own website using Paypal.
(And if you don't know how to build your own website, Site Build It! will take you by the hand and lead you through all the steps you need to learn to build a successful small-business website.)
And after you've done all that, please come back here and let me know! I'll then add mention your games on my site!
Good luck!

Here's my suggested quick route through the site:
Step 1 - Go to Choosing a Game to choose the game that suits your party best.
Step 2 - Review the Tips for Hosts for helpful advice.
